When you begin healing no one is cheering you on, instead people could be asking what wrong with you?! Common complaints you may hear are: “Why are you suddenly acting different?” “Why are you saying, "No" all of the sudden?” “Who do you think you are?”
Why do people respond like this? Because you are acting differently You are recognizing you time matters. You are beginning to make decisions based on your mental health. You are beginning to value your time and resources. You are reclaiming yourself.
During this process you probably don’t have anyone cheering you on. (More than likely just the opposite, actually.) BUT be your own cheerleader. Don’t stop the work and don’t stop the self-care.
I’m proud of you, stick with it.
