One of the biggest side effects of an unhealed traumatic childhood is we often stay in situations longer than we should. We falsely believe that the situation will get better, but in truth it always dissolves into something worse.
if you are not happy where you are, begin a journal regarding your situation. Write out whats happening and how you are feeling...after one month of journalling go back and re-read what you wrote. Chances are you are seeing a pattern, not an isolated occurrence.

As some of you may know, I’m always seeking knowledge and looking for ways to help my clients thrive. Recently I became certified to teach Shadow Work.
What it is: 90% of our decisions, actions and words come from the subconscious mind. Living in the deepest part of us, battling the ego and tonal for control are different parts of us. The judge, the bully, the hero and our higher self is also there, trying to be heard. For most of us we refuse to see or think about our “shadow self” it’s the part that we often disown or repress. But until its healed, it will work to sabotage our every action, cause us to say mean things, lash out, pick the worst partners, overspend to the point of becoming bankrupt and hurt the ones we love the most. Have you ever said something or done something and later on you have no idea why you did it? That was the Shadow Self taking over. Sometimes it's subtle more of a reaction, other times its a calculated “plan of action” that the shadow self has put into motion. Like overspending on something you don’t even want to keep you from being able to do something that would help your family and then using it to punish you and confirm you are a bad parent. This is all contrived by the Shadow Self to keep you small and suffering. #YIKES!

You will learn about Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud’s take on shadow work, understanding how the psychological and spiritual sides work together. This class will be 50% psychological 50% woo woo Spiritual.
You will study the archetypes and understand how these manifest in life on a daily bases. You will also learn protocol to stop these shadow parts from acting out and techniques to heal the forgotten parts of yourself.

When you are an empath everything is different.
Your life is different and this can be difficult for other people to understand. For instance, workplace drama can become unbearable. When you are empathic to the point of being over taken by other peoples emotional energy (and you take it all home with you as well)! Life can get overwhelming fast.
This is especially true when you’re working in an emotionally intense environment. Empaths need calm, low key jobs that let them excel without office politics. If you need help in finding a new career direction I can help!

Healing isn't something you can schedule It comes in its own time and its own way, the best we can do is be open to the process.
Some days will be great, others not so much and this is natural.
Do what you need to do: journal, cry, meditate, go for a walk, practice yoga, or take a nap. Find someone to talk to. Be real and be honest with yourself. Up the water and try to eat better. Be present and show yourself compassion.
Allow yourself time and be gentler to yourself. Whatever you do, remember that this is a process, and it will get easier.
There is, of course more to it than this list, but it does give you an idea of the differences between a HSP and an Empath.
As a note: One isn’t better than the other. They are closely related and have some of the same issues and hurdles. I work with both types of people to help them thrive in a very overwhelming world.
