What the Heck is Kombucha?
Have you heard people talking about Kombucha and wondered what the heck it was? Kombucha is a type of probiotic drink, more closely resembling a tea. While you can add a lot of flavorings to make it taste different, it essentially consists of a starter with bacteria, yeast, tea, and sugar. You can make it completely at home from scratch, or you can start with the kombucha tea starters, then flavor it on your own. You don’t have to be concerned about the sugar or caffeine, since most of it is going to be used up during the fermentation process. #WIN Yes, I said a probiotic drink you can make at home! Kombucha is actually really easy to make at home! Now, let’s me honest I’m sure you have seen bottles of Kombucha in health food stores and some supermarkets, but it does tend to be a little pricey. If your into saving money and also being healthy, you can make this drink at home in larger quantities. How do you make it? While it may seem complicated, kombucha is actually not that difficult to make on your own. As mentioned previously, you need to start with the ‘starter’ — sometimes called an active starter culture. This is what uses yeast and bacteria; and is necessary for proper fermentation. It is combined with black or green tea and sits for about 10 days. You then will remove the culture that forms on top, and can then save that for future kombucha blends. The rest of the liquid is flavored and used for consumption. How easy is that? Flavor Your Kombucha Keep in mind that kombucha without anything added to it can be a bit of a pungent flavor. Many people prefer adding something to it to flavor it. This can be anything you would add to your tea or a strong beverage, from fruit juice, think lemons or oranges. Many people add actual pieces of fruit to the batch and mixed in, giving it a sweeter, mellow flavor. Also you can add honey, cinnamon sticks, herbs, seasonings, and other flavors of tea for a unique and tasty blend. The Health Benefits of Kombucha People drink kombucha tea is because of how healthy it is for you. Probiotics are an excellent way to get the nutrients you need to help form a healthy gut, help with digestive problems and irritable bowel syndrome. People also believe it fights off colds and flu, and even can lower your blood pressure and cholesterol. If you suffer from food allergies, having more natural probiotics can help with that as well. While there are supplement probiotics, many people prefer drinking something as natural as possible, which is where kombucha comes in. To learn more about Kombucha I have a new report that includes how to make your own healthy, Kombucha at home HERE. Speak Soon, Sarah I tell you all the time it matters what you eat. Depression occurs when these feelings become a persistent state of being rather than a passing mood. Clinical depression can eventually affect a person's physical health and ability to perform regular daily activities. A depressed person may eventually experience suicidal thoughts and exhibit self-destructive tendencies if their depression remains untreated. Symptoms of depression can be mild to extreme and physical as well as mental:
Depression can occur for a variety of reasons. Some cases of depression are caused by nutritional deficiencies, others cases of depression are the result of environmental factors, such as lack of sunlight in the case of seasonal pattern depression. When a person visits their doctor or therapist and receives a diagnosis of depression, the medical practitioner attempts to prescribe the best remedy for their patient’s type of depression. Remedies may be as simple as making lifestyle changes or dietary adjustments. In extreme cases of depression, prescription medications may be required to alleviate the condition. It is important to follow your doctor’s orders and this is not intended as medical advice, but if you want to be proactive in your treatment, you may want to try using various natural remedies. Some of these will be more helpful than others, depending on the cause of your depression, but you may find that can help improve your condition on a day-to-day basis. Your Options In Natural Remedies For Depression
Many people live with mild to severe depression without seeking medical assistance. People in depressive states no longer need to suffer with the illness. Fortunately, many options for the treatment of depression exist. Depression can be managed and in some cases completely alleviated. Early diagnosis and treatment of depression lessens the condition’s overall impact on a person’s physical health and relationships. Call the NDMDA (National Depressive Manic-Depressive Association) Depression Hotline - Support Group (800) 826-3632 for help and seek medical attention. You do not have to suffer. No, it’s not a new fad diet. There is only one rule to this diet – to eat cherries every day and/or to drink fresh cherry juice. Although they are more popular for their taste, researchers are now seeing that cherries are actually extremely healthy as well. The bioactive components and nutrients found in this fruit are linked to the prevention of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory diseases, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. However, not only will they protect you from various health conditions, but cherries will also make it easier for you to accomplish your weight loss goals. Cherries were found to help promote weight loss as well lead to a more well rounded, healthy diet. Cherries don’t contain a lot of calories (the average cherry contains a whole 5 calories). Although a lot of other fruits contain fewer calories, it’s worth noting that cherries aren’t considered to be high-calorie foods. To put it in perspective, the average calories per a single banana is roughly 100. You can easily satisfy your hunger with a dozen cherries, which roughly amounts to only 60 calories. These luscious bits of healthy goodness also do a good job of satisfying your hunger because they are rich in fiber. All weight-loss diets suggest that you should consume more fiber. The great thing about fiber is that consuming it will help you feel full for an extended time period. This means that it will actually help prevent you from overeating on other foods that are potentially high in calories. Dark cherries also contain compounds known as anthocyanins, which will help you reduce belly fat. Back in 2008, the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry published a study, which showed just how powerful these compounds are when it comes to reduced belly fat (http://www.nutraingredients.com/Research/Anthocyanins-show-potent-anti-obesity-potential-study). Anthocyanins are flavonoid pigments that are found in a lot of different fruits and vegetables. Although there is still a lot of research to be done on the way anthocyanins are absorbed and distributed in the tissues of our bodies, researchers generally agree that these compounds can be a powerful tool for weight loss. Although cherries definitely can help you reduce belly fat, simply adding them to your existing diet won’t do the trick. There are no magical foods that you will help you shed those extra pounds simply by consuming them, while still overeating. Cherries will help you reach your weight loss goals, but you will also need to make sure that your diet is filled with other fresh produce. On top of that, you should avoid eating junk food and you should exercise regularly if you want to shed those extra pounds. If you need help building a healthy weight loss plan, I can help. With everything we know about Cherries you should definitely include them in your diet. They make a great snack and are amazing in smoothies. I suggest you keep your fridge stocked with washed cherries, you will always have a healthy snack close on hand.

If you are a business coach, dating coach or wellness coach you should be using Group Coaching.
Do you do “The Group Thing”? While one-on-one coaching might seem to be the holy grail of coaching, the truth is, many people actually prefer a group program. With one-on-one coaching, it’s just you and your coach. The focus is all on your progress, what you did (or did not) accomplish in the last week or month, and how you can improve. In other words, it’s a bit of a vacuum. Group coaching, on the other hand, has a much more social dynamic, and you might just find your clients, like my clients actually prefer that. With Group coaching you have a strong sense of community that’s not found when it’s just you and your coach on the phone. With a group program, there’s often a Facebook group or forum where members can support one another, gain insight, and get advice in real time from people who have been there. In other words, the group adds another layer of support. Need a shoulder to cry on when you had a setback at work? How about a few cheerleaders as you prepare to step outside your comfort zone? A group coaching program offers all that, and best of all, with a community of like-minded members, the help and support is actually, really helpful. Here’s another win for group coaching programs: the price. While it might be nice to work with that in-demand coach on a VIP day, the fact is that many people won’t be able to shell out that kind of cash. A group program gives them many of the same benefits at a fraction of the cost. #WinWin Lastly, with a group program, you’re very nearly guaranteed a successful outcome. Naturally, participants must actually do the work, but the fact is, the model is solid, and clients know that going in and the added layer of support from the group helps anchor the program and level up your success rate. Are you thinking of creating a group coaching program? Keep these points in mind. You might just find out your potential clients have been waiting for you to take this step for a long time.
