Sarah If you’re struggling to be productive, it could be a lack of organization at the root of the problem. For some people organization comes naturally, but for most people it requires some energy to learn organization skills.
And even if you’re not inherently organized, there are many things you can do to improve your organization easily. Clean Your Work Area. This sounds so simple, but it can make a huge impact on your work flow. If your work area looks like it was the victim of a recent natural disaster, your productivity will suffer. The first step toward better organization is as simple as cleaning your work area. This means getting rid of trash, organizing papers in file folders or binders, designating storage spaces for office supplies, and throwing away materials that are duplicates or that you no longer need. Put away personal items, empty your rubbish bin and even dust your work surface. Just by doing this your energy will become “unstuck” and your work will flow so much more efficiently. Organize Your Computer and Email. If your computer desktop has fifty icons on it and your email list has hundreds (or dare I say thousands) of emails, it’s time to clean those areas. Make sure that all important documents are stored in logical folders and remove any unused icons from your desktop. Spend a day organizing email so that unimportant emails are deleted and important emails are organized into folders so you can refer to them when you need them. If you have unread mail, read it. Make a plan to delete or sort each email once per day. It is not efficient to spend hours each day wading through emails. Use a Planner. Productive people plan each day with purpose. Using a daily planner – either on paper or electronically – can help you to stay on track and become more productive. It’s best to plan the next day’s work at the end of your work day so that you can begin fresh the next day and know what needs to be done first. Focus Your Efforts. Instead of worrying about trying to do everything at once, learn to focus instead of multi-tasking. Set a designated time or times each day to read email, respond to voicemail, and work on social media. The rest of your day should be spent on more important tasks such as creating content and products. Don’t Procrastinate. Sometimes it’s tempting to put off tasks that are less desirable. But all this does is get you behind schedule and put off the inevitable. This also causes a massive energy block. Remember we discussed this in manifesting abundance class? When you need to do something, just use self-discipline to complete the task and move on. You’ll save time, energy and worry. Stick to a Routine. It’s easier to be productive when you stick to a consistent schedule instead of doing things differently each day. This may sound boring, but over time you’ll find you actually like the regularity of a routine and you’ll get more done in less time. You may also want to read: Are you Productive or Are You Busy? Let the fun begin! S- Automation is every entrepreneur’s best friend. It allows you to get more done in less time, and to smoothly move people through your funnel. #WinWIn But honestly, many small business owners overlooked is this area in their websites. Read on to understand how automation can improve your sales. Use Your Blog to Build Your Mailing List Like any smart business owner, you likely already have an opt-in forms on your website. Usually people add these forms in the sidebar or maybe the footer, and you might have a pop-up to capture attention as visitors are about to leave. But do you have a solid call to action at the end of your blog posts? When a new reader is finished consuming your posts, they are primed to learn more. Give them the opportunity by offering an opt-in at the end of each post. #Genius Even better, make it a logical next step by creating a related offer for each post. Called a content upgrade, these offers typically consist of a simple checklist or worksheet, and capture attention by providing even more information about a topic they’re already interested in. Keep Them Reading With Related Links How often do you revisit old blog posts to link to newer content? Chances are you have many nuggets of content that will flow easy together, but can your reader fine these treasures? This is an important maintenance job that will help provide visitors with the information they’re looking for by linking related posts together. Not only is this strategy good for keeping visitors on your site, but Google approves as well. Posts that link to each other encourage search engine bots to crawl your site more thoroughly, and help boost the rankings of your most relevant posts. [Hint: This is a perfect job for your VA.] Also if you need help crafting a "Call To Action" for your business download my free e-book here: The Art of Crafting Call To Action For Business Success Make the Best of Your Download Pages Whether you’re giving away a free report or paid product, your download pages can pull double-duty by offering visitors a “what’s next” option. For free download pages, a related, low-cost product is best. It gives readers the chance to learn more about you with a small investment. For paid products, consider offering a complementary product instead. If you’re protecting your download pages with a membership script such as Customer Hub, you can even offer upsells based on what they already own, making the choice even easier for them. And if you’re using a double-opt-in mailing list, make use of that confirmation page, too! That’s the perfect place for a quick upsell or an invitation to join you in your Facebook group or weekly Periscope. Here’s a good rule of thumb to follow on your website: Whenever a reader lands on a page, she should be offered the next logical step. When you write your blog posts or create your download pages, keep that in mind, and your funnel will practically fill itself. Next step: Look over your funnel with fresh eyes and make necessary changes. Have you ever been on a roll and everything is just easy? Money, love and adventure are free flowing to you and life is easy? But then suddenly BAM! Everything seems to fall apart? You break your phone, get a speeding ticket, lose your purse and suddenly, if that wasn’t enough, you catch a cold? Everything goes to HELL quickly and it seems as if you can’t catch a break. You know you are supposed to stay positive and upbeat, but there is no way you can make long-term changes when life is crashing down on you. So you seek help, but no matter how many self help books you read or webinars you attend, nothing is working in your favor! It just feels like life is against you. WTF?! Why does this always happen? It’s likely you are suffering from energetic blocks around growth, wealth and abundance. Chances are good that these blocks are around your money specifically. Most people have energy blocks like this, and if left unresolved they will continue growing roots and expanding for years. These types of blocks could be stopping you from getting your money situation under control; no matter how careful you are or how much you make. These blocks could also be responsible for your self sabotage and taking you further from your wealth goals. Where do energy blocks come from? People pick up energy blocks very early in life, even as far back as early childhood. What did your parents think about money? Was it a blessing or was it something to constantly worry over? Parental fear over finances are common causes of these types of blocks and these beliefs are easily passed down. (There is no judgement around this, almost all of this is done unconsciously, generation to generation.) What are they? At their core, money blocks are really ideas that we take on unconsciously. We believe them to be true and allow them to shape our relationship with money. They come from our parents and caregivers, friends, teachers and society. For example, have you ever thought: “I’m just not good with money” or “Money is the root of all evil” or “Rich people are unhappy people?” These ideas shape what we believe about ourselves, money and wealth. They impact the choices we make and the life we live. They also define our relationship with all aspects of abundance. Left unhealed these thoughts become energetic blocks or barriers that stop our natural energy flow. They turn into repeating life lessons until they are removed. Our interactions in the world are just exchanges of energy, including our thoughts on money. Money blocks are beliefs that get in the way of natural free-flowing energy. When the energy stops flowing, it pushes prosperity away and things have a tendency to become chaotic. You loose your purse, you break your favorite watch, you forget to pay a bill, etc. Think of a boulder in a fast moving stream, the water surges past the block, but the water becomes chaotic around it. Your energy is trying to right itself and push past the block just like this, causing all types of chaos around it. How do we fix this?
To put it simply, all you have to do is unblock the ki or energy. Once we do, the energy flows freely again and our beliefs easily change. We stop self sabotaging, and are able to see the larger picture. The energy calms down and life flows easily again. If you want to talk more about energy blocks leave me a comment or email me.
