Do you ever feel like life is a whirlwind, with too much to do and not enough time to do it all? You're not alone. If you look up 'overwhelmed' in the dictionary you are likely to find my picture, lol. But thankfully I was able a few years back to take control of the chaos that was my life, and now things flow so much smoother. Many of us lead hectic lives, juggling work, family, and personal activities. We fall into bed exhausted and wake up the same way because we are overwhelmed. But it doesn't have to be that way; by organizing five fundamental areas of your life—your schedule, work, money, meals, and routines—you can regain control, reduce stress, and unlock your potential for success. In this blog post, we'll explore why organizing these areas is crucial and how you can begin today. 1. Your Schedule:
Why: A well-organised schedule ensures that you make time for what matters most, reduces stress, and increases productivity. Benefits:
2. Work: Why: An organised work life leads to higher efficiency, increased job satisfaction, and more significant career growth opportunities. Benefits:
3. Money: Why: Organising your finances helps you achieve financial stability, reduce debt, and work toward your financial goals. Benefits:
4. Meals: Why: Planning and organising meals leads to healthier eating habits, better nutrition, and time savings. Benefits:
5. Routines: Why: Organised daily routines establish consistency, reduce decision fatigue, and foster positive habits. Benefits:
Organising these five key areas of your life isn't about creating rigid structures; it's about empowering yourself to live more intentionally and authentically. By doing so, you'll find more time for what truly matters, reduce stress, and create a foundation for achieving your goals. Reiki Blessings, Sarah Are you doing everything you are supposed to and still struggling? Happiness, healthy relationships, a satisfying career, and wealth all seem out of your control? Maybe you are even asking yourself why you're not getting ahead? Are you having difficulty finding opportunities, or could it be you're not grabbing the chances when they come to you? I work with clients that struggle with these same issues, and the most common reason people fail is that they're engaging in self-defeating behaviors. Could this be a problem for you too? If you're not finding happiness, engaging in healthy relationships, or building a satisfying career, you might want to consider whether or not you've become your own worst enemy. Often we feel like we have no control over our lives, but in fact, you could be trapped in a self-defeating cycle that keeps you miserable. How can you tell? Look for these five signs:
You Use the Emergency Exit Or the "nothing is ever finished" cycle. Do you tend to come close to completing a project only to stop at the last minute? When you feel the need to stop, ask yourself why? Could it be you're afraid to take the next step? Ask yourself what you are worried about? Are you afraid of failure or success? And know that you are not alone; most people are fearful of moving forward and taking chances. For some folks, this is why we sabotage relationships the moment we start to feel close to them or deeply connect with another person. It's also why we throw a monkey wrench in the works when we hear we're being considered for promotion. Instead, complete your project/task before moving on to something else. Procrastination Can't ever seem to get anything done? Deadlines come and go, and still, you can't seem to get motivated? It could mean you don't feel you have the skills you need to finish the task. When we don't feel confident in our abilities, it's natural to put things off, hoping that we will finish them later. The problem is this clarity rarely comes. In truth, we only wind up making ourselves feel worse by missing deadlines. Instead, ask for help. You Trust Other People More Than You Trust Yourself It's essential to ask for help, seek advice, and receive feedback, but you also need to trust your instincts. When we value other's people opinions over our own, to our detriment, we are self-sabotaging. (This is especially true if you have "friendly enemies" in your circle.) If you are allowing other people's opinions to dictate your life, then you are giving away your power and allowing them to determine your life. Instead, trust your institution. You're Not Focused On the Right Thing Are you easily distracted? If you're worried about one project's outcome, it's not uncommon to throw yourself into another. We do this to take our minds off of what worries us. But unfortunately, it also distracts us from what needs to be our primary focus. I see people getting lost in social media and crafting the best business post ever but, sadly, not taking the time to create a product to sell. Instead, look at the big picture and focus on what's important. Negative Self-Talk Are you constantly criticizing yourself or using negative self-talk to keep yourself from succeeding? Negative self-talk can stop you from asking someone out on a date, prevent you from sending your resume off for your dream job, or hurt you in so many other ways. Instead, be your own personal cheerleader and practice positive affirmations. All of these behaviors can have a seriously detrimental effect on your life. It may take some time to change these behaviors, but working together, I can help you take back control of your life and end self-sabotage. SHARE/COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE I hope you enjoyed this article. Sarah Be Afraid and Do It Anyway ~✨
Everything you want is on the other side of FEAR~ Trust me when I started I was afraid of what people might think or even what they may say. I would let it tear me down and hold me back every time. But then one day I decided what others think of me doesn’t matter. Because I’m not doing this for them! At the end of the day, what does some stranger across the country (or the world) matter? What they think about me does not define me. I don’t let the fear of how other see me stand in the way of my goals! I've learned the hard way nothing good ever comes from hiding out in your comfort zone; so I got comfortable with being uncomfortable! Once I got out of my own way amazing things started to happen and I started to reach some of those goals! Imagine how your life would change if you pushed through fear and did it anyway? If you are ready to stop letting fear define you then dm and let's go to work! Speak soon, Sarah I was on the phone with a wonderful, client this past week and I was making her talk about everything she wanted in life, in love, in business, all of the above. And I do mean it when I say "making her" talk about it. 😳
Coaches are good for that- making you have conversations you would normally avoid or runaway from. I could tell I was making her uncomfortable, admitting she wanted “things” and experiences and success. She was finally able to admit she wanted to make lots of money, travel and fall in love and more. She was crying really hard as we cleared those blocks and made room for her dreams to become reality. #goodtimes lol Why is it so hard to talk about what we truly want? Because on some level we feel we don’t deserve it. In the beginning when we name our desires and give ourselves permission to admit what we REALLY want something, so many shame-and-fear issues will come forward. Buried deep down inside most of us have a small (or not so small) voice saying we don’t deserve to have the life we secretly want. We are somehow not even allowed to talk about it, much less have it. But guess what? YOU CAN HAVE THE THINGS YOU WANT. Just as my client can have her dream life, so can you. You are “allowed” to have a full, happy life. An amazing life filled to the bring with adventure, love and success. If you need some support in making this happen or in releasing old, out dated beliefs surrounding worthiness I’m here to help. Why not book a (free) live call and let’s discuss it. You could be in a very different (and more desirable) spot this time next year. You could be living those dreams…. We need balance in our work life and home life, but when our lives get off track we no longer feel like we are moving forward. We stop doing things that make us happy, we neglect our needs, stop eating healthy and most things become chores instead of adventures. When we are in balance everything flows, life is easier and we are overall happier.
To help you get back on the right track here are five ways to introduce more balance into your life and get things going in the right direction. 1) Prioritize When we don’t prioritize important things slip through the cracks and don’t get done. Prioritizing and scheduling can be a great practice to start introducing more of a sense of balance to your life. We all have busy lives and long, never-ending to do lists. The only way to get everything done and find balance in our lives is by prioritizing what needs to be done when and scheduling our days. The tricky part to this is deciding just what is important; in some cases, your work may take priority, but in others family or friends may take priority over your work on your to-do list. Only you can decide what is really important and what should be a priority in your schedule. 2) Set Goals I talk about this all the time. Without a clear goal in mind we can easily get off track. Setting both long-term and short-term goals can prove to be incredibly helpful in achieving a balance in your life. It helps you keep your sights on what you want and what is truly important for you, avoiding all those shiny opportunities that seem great at the time but that actually only lead you further from your dreams. The short-term goals help you to track your progress as you work to achieve your long-term goals, and help you stay on track. 3) Set Your Schedule and Then Review It Often we don’t know what will really work for us until we try. As an example lets say you decide you want to work longer hours Monday through Thursday to take off every Friday to spend time with your family. This sounds ideal, but it may not really be practical. Working longer plus the committing time may not leave you with enough time to get your household chores done or be home for homework. So if you do try a schedule and it doesn't work, don’t give up. Revise it. Could it be more feasible to take every other Friday off? Building they extra hours over a two week period instead of one? Tweak and revise your schedule until you find something that works with your life. 4) Find an Accountability Buddy An accountability buddy is someone that holds you accountable for the goals you have made, the priorities you set, and the things you have said you wanted to do and accomplish. It ís easier to find balance and stick to your goals and schedule when you have someone to be accountable to that is also accountable to you. Your relationship with your accountability buddy should be interactive and mutual or you could work with a coach.(like me). To help you stay on track and accountable. 5) Set Attainable Goals For example, you can make your goal to win a Nobel prize in literature, or you can make it to be paid to writer. The latter is a more achievable goal that focuses on the process and journey more than the achievement or prize at the end. Anything is possible if you want it badly enough, but are you ready to make that level of commitment? If not then work on smaller, attainable goals now and you can always revise your long term goals later. 6) Remember It’s a Process Life isn’t just about what you achieve, its about the journey. In order to achieve a proper balance, and get back on track you need to always keep in mind that this could be a constant struggle, at least until you learn the signals your are getting of course. Everyone needs balance in order to live a happy and healthy life. Finding the proper balance in your life can be difficult, but it not impossible. Once you get back on track you will find it is well worth the effort. I hope this article has helped to point you on the right path, towards a healthy balance in your life. If you need help find balance I’m here. Book a one-to-one session today and let get you back on track and living the life of your dreams. Sarah |
