Sarah "This is what people don't understand: obesity is a symptom of poverty. It's not a lifestyle choice where people are just eating and not exercising. It's because kids - and this is the problem with school lunch right now - are getting sugar, fat, empty calories - lots of calories - but no nutrition." Tom Colicchio Why is self-esteem so important? Because it controls the results of everything you think and ultimately everything you do. You will operate at the level of your self-esteem.
If you think you deserve something and your self-esteem is at a level for you to get it, your self-esteem will unconsciously and almost miraculously lead you to it. Every action you take will bring you closer to this success, but if your self-esteem is at a level where you cannot see yourself achieving your desire, it will make sure that you don't achieve it. No matter how hard you try. Think self-sabotage at its best. Research has shown this time again. That's why taking care of your self-esteem is one of the most important things you can do to be successful. Luckily, if you didn't grow up with strong self-esteem, as an adult you can raise your self-esteem or even create it. I can help and support you on this journey. I hope you are well! I’m writing because BIG things are happening here! The Wellness VIP Library is one year old today! To celebrate I am pleased to announce we are offering a 10 Day Sugar Detox Program free to Library members! The program begins in October to help your break the addiction of sugar before the holidays. If your not familiar with the Wellness Library it is a HUGE members only section on the website. It’s like having a nutritional and wellness coach at your disposal 24/7! There are videos, audios, downloadable e-books, recipes, checklist and so much more. There are currently over 120 items in the library with more being added every week. The Library is $45 a month for a 30 day pass to unlimited access, plus the Sugar Detox Program. If you would like to purchase the Sugar Detox alone it is valued at $110 but since you are valued member of our Health and Wellness Tribe you may grab it for $55USD. for the next four days. This offer end on September 25, 2018. Read more about the Detox here and read about the Library here. The detox will only be offered in the Library for the month of October so don’t delay. You get immediate access to everything in the library plus the 10 Day Sugar Detox in October for one low price. Why Will You Remove the Detox From the Library After a Month? We remove this type of content to protect your investment in this program. If we were to leave all of the content in the library, and let's say that you spent 6 months paying for it - and then someone came along and signed up 6 months after you did, made one payment, and then got access to all of the content you spent 6 months paying for, that's not fair to you, is it? That's why we remove the previous month's challenges and detox program contents after 30 days. Set up a free call and we can discuss this further. But don't delay because this is one sweet deal (pun intended) you don't want to miss! Speak Soon, Sarah Do you realize we live our lives much differently than people did 20 or 30 years ago? Yep, life has changed and with it our stress levels. Even though we are constantly developing new technological to make life simpler, we are also carrying the burden of being alert and accessible 24/7.
So while we have everything at our fingertips now, from ‘track my friends’ to weather apps, we have very little down time. You open your laptop or smartphone and the whole world is at your disposal. Unfortunately, it is a 2-way street which means that just as you can get in touch with anyone at anytime, they can also find you wherever you are and whenever they please. This keeps us constantly “on”. We are constantly engaged and have very little time to destress or relax. As a result, we become overworked and stress-related tension builds. This is why nearly 80% of all doctor visits are stress-related. While some stress response is good for you, having it all the time leads to major physical, psychological and emotional problems. Medical experts are calling it “Chronic Stress Syndrome” with the following symptoms:
Honestly we all suffer from one, or a combination, of these symptoms or know someone that does. And since stress does not look like its going to end anytime soon, its up to us to learn healthy ways to manage and lower stress levels. Here are 5 natural ways to alleviate tension and stress you can put into motion today: 1. Eat right. What you eat is more important than you think! Foods high in magnesium, calcium, vitamin B-12, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids all help uplift the mood, protect the heart and boost brain power. Avoid foods rich in processed sugars and fats, all carbonated sodas and baked goods. Also too much caffeine and alcohol will increase anxiety, fatigue and inflammations. 2. Meditate. Meditation has been used for centuries as a way to calm the nerves and become in tune with your inner self. And the best part is that it can be done anywhere and at any time. Pick a quiet corner in your home, sit in a comfortable chair and focus your attention on your breathing for 5 - 10 minutes. To enhance your meditation, you can use essential oils, burn incense or listen to nature sounds. I have guided mediations free on Youtube and my site to also assist you as well as online and live meditation classes. 3. Exercise. Getting regular exercise is a natural stress-buster because your body releases endorphins; feel-good hormones in the brain which lift your mood as well as act as natural pain killers. Your blood sugar levels and metabolism are boosted, helping you eat less and burn more calories at the same time. Exercise also regulates your sleep cycle, what experts refer to as your circadian rhythm, so you get quality sleep and wake up early, energized and ready to start the day. Want to double the benefits? Exercise outdoors, preferably where you are surrounded by nature. Studies have proven that getting direct sunshine stimulates the release of endorphins, the feel-good chemicals. Add to that the soothing effect nature has on you, and your mood is sure to soar, decreasing levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. 4. Practice Mindfulness To effectively manage stress and anxiety, you need to calm down your fear and panic responses and mindfulness practices can be key. Mindfulness means being present in the moment. Too often we are stressed because we are thinking about past events or stressing over the future. With mindfulness practice for stress and anxiety, you learn how to sit peacefully with your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, creating an inner calm. This will help contain and reduce stress and anxiety as you refocus on this very moment. 5. Play Make time to do something you enjoy. When you do, you are disconnecting from social media, slowing down and using your senses to take in everything in the present moment. This is also a great confidence booster, whether you like playing games or reading, or engaging in a hobby like painting, knitting, coloring or race-car driving. Play and have fun, just for the shear fun of it. Don’t try to create something to sell or give away, but create and play just for the experience. Stress is unfortunately an integral part of our lives now. If it is left unmanaged it can lead to serious health problems. Luckily, with some patience and a few simple lifestyle changes, you can move from stressed and frazzled to a happy, well-balanced life. If you want to learn more natural ways to alleviate tension and stress why not take a meditation class or book a relaxing energy session today. Let's discuss! Speak soon! Sarah Reference: https://www.webmd.com/balance/stress-management/effects-of-stress-on-your-body https://www.umassmed.edu If you’re struggling to be productive, it could be a lack of organization at the root of the problem. For some people organization comes naturally, but for most people it requires some energy to learn organization skills.
And even if you’re not inherently organized, there are many things you can do to improve your organization easily. Clean Your Work Area. This sounds so simple, but it can make a huge impact on your work flow. If your work area looks like it was the victim of a recent natural disaster, your productivity will suffer. The first step toward better organization is as simple as cleaning your work area. This means getting rid of trash, organizing papers in file folders or binders, designating storage spaces for office supplies, and throwing away materials that are duplicates or that you no longer need. Put away personal items, empty your rubbish bin and even dust your work surface. Just by doing this your energy will become “unstuck” and your work will flow so much more efficiently. Organize Your Computer and Email. If your computer desktop has fifty icons on it and your email list has hundreds (or dare I say thousands) of emails, it’s time to clean those areas. Make sure that all important documents are stored in logical folders and remove any unused icons from your desktop. Spend a day organizing email so that unimportant emails are deleted and important emails are organized into folders so you can refer to them when you need them. If you have unread mail, read it. Make a plan to delete or sort each email once per day. It is not efficient to spend hours each day wading through emails. Use a Planner. Productive people plan each day with purpose. Using a daily planner – either on paper or electronically – can help you to stay on track and become more productive. It’s best to plan the next day’s work at the end of your work day so that you can begin fresh the next day and know what needs to be done first. Focus Your Efforts. Instead of worrying about trying to do everything at once, learn to focus instead of multi-tasking. Set a designated time or times each day to read email, respond to voicemail, and work on social media. The rest of your day should be spent on more important tasks such as creating content and products. Don’t Procrastinate. Sometimes it’s tempting to put off tasks that are less desirable. But all this does is get you behind schedule and put off the inevitable. This also causes a massive energy block. Remember we discussed this in manifesting abundance class? When you need to do something, just use self-discipline to complete the task and move on. You’ll save time, energy and worry. Stick to a Routine. It’s easier to be productive when you stick to a consistent schedule instead of doing things differently each day. This may sound boring, but over time you’ll find you actually like the regularity of a routine and you’ll get more done in less time. You may also want to read: Are you Productive or Are You Busy?
